Mercury Sable motor engine problem fix

If your motor just stopped working it can be very small problem and very simple solution .It is hard to spot kind of problem and yet right in front of your eyes if you pop the hood when your car wont start .Second photo is of 3 liter V6 engine 1992 Mercury Sable .Click on photo to enlarge . First photo is close up and showing where problem could be . Two ends of line for vacuum are connected with small rubber connector where my finger is pointing , and rubber gets worn from the heat over the time and it breaks so there is no more suction . At some cars this wouldn't cause engine to stop working but Mercury Sable and maybe some other Ford models equipped with same or similar engine seems to have computer that reads that as a big problem and it prevents engine from starting . So as a temporary solution you can tape it with duck tape but make sure you remove worn rubber as vacuum might suck in small pieces of rubber and that might create other problems . You don't need to change it with original part but rubber pipe that you will use to replace old one must be thick and hard enough so it doesn't collapse under sucking pressure and stop the flow . I hope this will help some of you save some money .
